About the course
Join internationally acclaimed organist David Titterington for an engaging course designed for intermediate to advanced players who wish to develop their technique, interpretation and performance skills. Working with repertoire chosen by participants, David will offer individual guidance on musical expression, registration and stylistic understanding. The course provides an opportunity to explore new approaches to familiar works, discover fresh repertoire and deepen your confidence at the organ.
Who is it for?
This course is designed for intermediate to advanced organists who already have experience of playing the instrument. Whether you are a developing organist ready to tackle more challenging repertoire or an experienced player seeking fresh perspectives, you will benefit from guidance tailored to your abilities and aspirations. Participants should be comfortable preparing and playing pieces independently and are encouraged to bring music reflecting their interests and ambitions.
What to expect
Sessions will take the form of supportive, informal masterclasses, with participants playing prepared repertoire and receiving personalised feedback from David. Areas of focus may include technique, articulation, phrasing, registration, interpretation and performance preparation. Listening to fellow participants and discussing different approaches will offer further insights into a range of music and styles. The emphasis is on thoughtful musical development in an encouraging environment, with opportunities to ask questions, refine your playing and share your enthusiasm for the organ.
