The New Eden Consort
The New Eden Consort is a London-based four-part vocal ensemble comprising Grace, Niamh, Charlie and Dom, all graduates of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. The ensemble was formed following their performance as the solo ensemble in Nicholas Maw’s ‘One Foot in Eden’, an experience that revealed a natural musical chemistry and ultimately inspired the group’s name. Their shared foundation in the Conservatoire’s Chapel Choir, where they sang twice weekly at the Old Royal Naval College, continues to shape their unified blend, balance and approach to ensemble singing.
The New Eden Consort performs sacred and secular repertoire spanning the Renaissance to the present day. Their programmes encompass early polyphony, classical and Romantic part-songs, musical theatre and contemporary works by living composers, reflecting their versatility and commitment to expressive, text-led performance.
The New Eden Consort are also keen to develop their work as a solo ensemble within larger-scale choral and orchestral repertoire, particularly oratorio. As a complete SATB ensemble, the group offers a practical and cohesive option for choirs, orchestras and organisations seeking soloists, allowing all four voices to be engaged together rather than sourced individually. Their established musical chemistry, unified sound and experience of performing together make them a particularly versatile and reliable ensemble for this repertoire.
The ensemble performs regularly across the UK, with highlights including concerts at The Queen’s House Greenwich, St James’s Church Piccadilly and Middlesbrough Cathedral, reaching the final of the Philip Carne Chamber Music Competition, and performances for the Yorke Trust. The ensemble also serves as Musicians in Residence at the London Transport Museum.
From 2026–2028, they will join The Gesualdo Six’s Emerging Ensembles programme, developing their artistry alongside experience in outreach, education, project planning and audience engagement.
