George Bartle

George Bartle has been performing since he became a chorister in Ely Cathedral as a boy. Since then, he has graduated from the Royal College of Music in London and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Switzerland as a singer and sackbut specialist. He has performed with many early music ensembles in the UK and abroad and has regularly worked as a musician with the Royal Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.

George has toured the world extensively with numerous orchestras and ensembles both modern and early and is as comfortable sitting at the piano playing jazz as he is wielding a sackbut. He has been recorded on dozens of albums from Gabrieli to modern blues and most things in between! George had been a tutor at the Dartington International Summer School for the past 7 years and teaches at the Historically Informed Summer School in Beverley.
