The Hepburn Four

The Hepburn Four was formed in 2024 by choral scholars at the University of St Andrews. Passionate about celebrating both the music of the past and contemporary works, the group’s repertoire ranges from 16thcentury Scots anonymous polyphony to modern folk song arrangements.

Following their performance at the Glasgow Barons Early Music Festival in 2025, the group received a 5-star review in The Scotsman for their ‘fluid gracefulness and remarkable sense of balance and ensemble that made for exquisite sonic beauty’. The Hepburn Four has since toured the UK with a diverse programme of music including renaissance polyphony, madrigals, and contemporary pieces at venues including St Giles’ Cathedral and St Bartholomew the Great, London.

Alongside their work in the ensemble, the members of The Hepburn Four have individually performed with many major UK ensembles, including the Dunedin Consort, Apollo5, Kantos Chamber Choir, Genesis Sixteen and the Voces8 Scholars.

The group recently began a collaboration with the Gesualdo Six as part of their Emerging Ensembles programme (2026/8), working with G6 in masterclasses, coachings and artistic development workshops.
